Matze

Matze is a well-known music archaeologist, mashup creator/designer, eclectic producer of pseudo-contemporary sounds, chief stoker of the Zona Liberă locomotive and sampling teacher at Artskul. His musical career began in 1992 on Radio Nova 22. Over time, Matze became one of Romania’s most experimental producers, with a wide palette of musical styles (predominantly industrial and hardcore), with rhythms often rooted in Romanian folklore and socio-political lyrics. Between 1998 and 1999, Matze organised parties at the Web club called “Undergroove Summer Nights.” His productions were never released as official albums, being distributed to friends and industry insiders as CD demos.
